CACHOU LAJAUNIE - c.1890 "Rue Alsace-Lorraine,6 Toulouse".
Extremely rare original advertising candy box in wood with lithographed paper and yellow band. 4.3 cm diameter and 2.3 cm high.

Good condition. - The label on the lid is in good condition, with slight irregularities and a partially faded letter, without affecting the overall presentation. Peripheral band with a few tears.
Created in 1880 by pharmacist Leon Lajaunie, Cachou Lajaunie is a black liquorice pastille presented in its iconic round yellow tin.
Taken over by the Sirven brothers in 1904, the brand was widely distributed in tobacconists' shops and very early on developed innovative advertising, notably with Leonetto Cappiello's posters.
Having become a symbol of Toulouse, the product spanned the XXᵉ century before ceasing production in 2024.
