Description
LIMONADE ZIP - c.1950
Rare original lithographed and embossed advertising sheet. 39 x 29 cm. "G.De. Andreis.S.A marseille".
Excellent condition - remarkably fresh, with strong, bright colours. The original gloss enhances the overall quality.
A very fine mint copy.
A summery depiction of a family on the beach, the lemonade stands as a totem on top of the brand's innovative hermetically sealed "crown cap", which protects (from germs, this being the post-World War II era) like a parasol. A refreshing, cheerful image that fully fulfils its decorative role!
Founded as the Geismar brasserie, the establishment on boulevard Massenet in Marseille (Saint-Joseph district) became the Compagnie Française de Boissons in 1924, then the Brasserie du Zénith. Bought out by SEB (Société Européenne de Brasserie), it then became Générale de Brasserie SA before ceasing trading in 1966.
