Description
GRAFF BEER - 1933 Rare original embossed lithographed advertising board. 32 x 24 cm "Ets. Bouché & Vallotton - Bellegarde (Ain)". Very good condition - very fresh with strong colours. The embossed figures and lettering give a remarkable relief and a fine quality of execution. There are only very slight alterations in the margins, which are quite minor. A very fine copy - Beautiful horse-racing scene with turf players holding up Graff beer bocks. Graff beer was founded in Rennes by the Alsatian Joseph Graff, who settled in Brittany after 1870. From the Rennes brewery created in 1873, it took the name Graff in 1878. Bought by the brasseries de la Meuse around 1950, it enjoyed sustained growth before being gradually integrated into major brewery groups in the 20th century, until the site was closed in 2003. Ille-et-Vilaine/Brittany
