Founded in 1902 under the name Richard-Brasier by Georges Richard and Charles-Henri Brasier, the brand quickly became famous for its success in competition.
In 1905, after Richard's departure, Brasier continued alone under his own name.
Despite a certain renown, the brand gradually declined after the First World War. In 1926, it became Chaigneau-Brasier, named after its director Camille Chaigneau, and tried to relaunch itself with more modern models, including a 9 CV. However, the attempt failed: production ceased in 1930 and the factory was finally taken over by Delahaye in 1933.
