Marks of use on the surface (micro-scratches), oxidation and corrosion on the periphery and on the square return. Good condition. Founded in 1902 in Beaumont (Texas, USA) as The Texas Company, Texaco quickly adopted its current name, derived from an abbreviation in a commercial telegram. In 1905, the company expanded into Europe, opening a site in Antwerp (Belgium) under the name Continental Petroleum Company. Backed by a constantly evolving range of innovative products, the Texaco brand quickly established itself on the European market. Anecdote: the Texaco red star is a direct reference to the state of Texas, nicknamed "The Lone Star State", and takes its name from the star on the state flag.
