Original advertising enamelled thermometer with chamfered edges. 98.5 x 28.8 cm. "Nehaus stained glass

Very intense colours, superb original brilliance.
Slight localized alterations/chipping at lower edge.
Capillary present, small damage to its reserve, discreet and not perceptible when viewed from the front.

Created in 1913 by Tide Water Oil Ltd, with its refinery in Bayenne, New Jersey (USA) and selling under the brand name "Veedol" the world's first oil, 100% Pennsylvania motor oil.
In 1928, the famous German airship, the Graf Zeppelin, used Veedol lubricants for its round-the-world flight.
In 1931, the Miss Veedol aircraft made the first transpacific flight, also using this engine oil. In 1986, Burmah Castrol acquired the worldwide rights to market Veedol lubricants. In 2000, Bp acquired Burmah Castrol.
