Fine condition - superb fresh, bright colours with very good gloss. Discreet deformations.
PLB for Piles Leclanché Belge. After an initial patent in 1866, Georges Leclanché developed his manganese dioxide battery in Brussels in 1867, which was quickly adopted and won awards in Paris.
From 1871, its manufacture was industrialised in France and perfected (dry cell). Despite its success, the company declined in the face of competition, although the Leclanché name continued to be used when his son and brother took over.
