ARCHIVE of the Bulgarian dancer Sonya Arova. Comprising:
- Stage kimono. Pearly silk, embroidered with images of dragons. A.B.E.
- Four large photographs of the dancer Sonya Arova and her partner Thor Sukovski. 350 x 280 mm. Presented in their original cardboard sleeves. T.B.E.
Sonia Arova (1927-2007) - Bulgarian-born dancer, student of Olga Preobrazhenskaya and Serge Lifar. In the 1950s, she danced in the troupes of the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the London Festival Ballet, the American Ballet Theatre and the Australian Ballet. In 1970, she directed the troupe of the Hamburg National Ballet, then, from 1971, that of San Diego.
