History
Piotr Vassilievitch Davydov (1825-1912) came from a large Russian noble family linked to the Decembrist movement. His father, involved in the 1825 insurrection, was exiled to Siberia, which led Piotr to settle in Krasnoyarsk in 1850. In 1856, the family officially regained its nobility rights. Through his marriage to Princess Elisabeth Troubetskoi, the daughter of another Decembrist, he became part of a network of great Russian aristocratic families. His life illustrates the fate of this generation, marked by exile but later reintegrated into imperial society.
