[EMIGRATION] GOLOVAN Sergei (1872–1927), Major General A significant collection of photographs from the family of Major General S.A. Golovan, gathered during his exile. 475 photographs of various formats are gathered in a large album (silver prints ranging from 65 x 50 mm to 95 x 70 mm), depicting Sergei and Maria Golovan travelling, in the company of friends, views of the French Riviera and Switzerland, as well as at public events. Among the famous figures appearing in the photographs, we can identify: Princess Ekaterina Dolgorukova (Yurievskaya), Varvara Shebeko, Prince Sergei Dolgorukov, Bishop Irinei and other figures yet to be identified. Album 31 x 46 cm, A.B.E. We enclose: a photographic portrait of Bishop Timoksk (Timochsk) Irinej with a dedication to Sergei Golovan and his wife Maria Golovan. Silver print mounted on a mat from the Jovanović studio in Belgrade, 143 x 105 mm (print); three portraits (one of S.A. Golovan, a later print), two portraits of unidentified persons (one of which is inscribed), 260 x 180 mm, 195 x 145 mm, 215 x 150 mm. Provenance: private collection, Europe. Among the well-known figures depicted in the photographs are: Princess Ekaterina Dolgorukova (Yuryevskaya), Varvara Shebeko, Prince Sergei Alexandrovich Dolgorukov, Bishop Iriney and other individuals requiring identification.
