[EXPERIMENTS AND LABORATORIES] RIABOUCHINSKY Dimitri (1882–1962) – Autograph • Notebook containing handwritten notes in the form of a diary and notes on meteorological data. 1948–1950. In Russian, 72 pp., 22 × 17 cm. The notebook is presented as is. We are enclosing 4 pp. of handwritten notes, in poor condition. • Copy of the plan ‘Professor Riabouchinsky’s Laboratory, 3rd modification of the 10 t x 11.400 m overhead crane, L.1289, detail of the professor’s rod guide’, 104 × 73 cm. (traces of creases); drawings and detailed elements (one hand-drawn on tracing paper, the others copies and prints), various formats, 8 items in total; a plan of the room, 35.5 x 45 cm; three photographs of experiments, Paris, 1932–1933, 180 x 130 mm, 150 x 90 mm, 110 x 40 mm; one photograph of an aeroplane, 90 x 120 mm. • An interesting typescript concerning the French scientific community’s criticism of Dimitri Riabouchinsky’s space-related work, the contempt shown for his research, and the obstacles to carrying out his experiments. This is why he was forced to purchase gunpowder at his own expense and to conduct field trials on his property in Biarritz without any authorisation from the laboratory. 16 November 1929, in French, 4 pp., 24 x 20 cm. We enclose an extract from the Biarritz Town Hall authorising Dimitri Riabouchinsky to purchase 5 kg of powder to conduct his experiments. 11 March 1924, in French, 1 p., 21 x 13.5 cm. • Two photographs taken at the Kutchino Aerodynamic Institute (D.
