Description
Dimitri Riabouchinsky (1882–1962) – Autograph
• Dimitri Riabouchinsky’s work diary for the year 1954. Personal notebook containing notes, 148 pp. (entirely filled in with pen and pencil), 32 x 24 cm (spiral-bound), binding as is, contents as is (stains and tears). The notebook contains 18 loose pages with mathematical formulas and calculations, in various formats.
The notebook contains a wide variety of daily notes: addresses and telephone numbers, newspaper clippings, extracts from articles, drawings and diagrams of apparatus details, full pages and fragments of mathematical calculations and formulas, notes taken whilst preparing articles and books (chapters and sections), a fragment of an article on fluid mechanics with handwritten corrections, and draft letters.
This unique workbook accompanied the researcher Dimitri Riabouchinsky for a whole year; it reflects his daily work, the correction of articles and calculations, test calculations and the verification of various ideas. Over the course of the year, the author continues or revisits calculations in hydrodynamics and theoretical physics, and carries out a series of calculations on the subject of electromagnetic waves (using Maxwell’s equations). He performs calculations of wave equations and examines their solutions for electromagnetic and acoustic waves, using potential and vector analysis. Several calculations concern the motion of an ideal fluid (using Euler’s equation), as well as the turbulent motion of fluids. An important document in the context of Dimitri Riabouchinsky’s fundamental research in the field of hydrodynamics and wave motion.

Personal notebook with notes, 148 pages (fully filled in with pen and pencil), 32 x 24 cm (spiral-bound), binding in fair condition, in fair condition (stains and torn pages). The notebook contains 18 loose sheets of various sizes with formulas and mathematical calculations.
The notebook contains a collection of daily notes of a wide variety of nature: addresses and telephone numbers, newspaper clippings, fragments of articles, drawings and diagrams of apparatus parts, full sheets and fragments of mathematical calculations and formulas, notes made whilst preparing articles and books (chapters and sections), a fragment of an article on fluid mechanics with handwritten corrections, and draft fragments of letters.
A unique workbook that accompanied the researcher Dmitry Ryabushinsky for a whole year, reflecting his daily work, corrections to articles and calculations, test calculations and the testing of various ideas. Throughout the year, the author continues with, or returns to, calculations in hydrodynamics and theoretical physics, and carries out a series of calculations on electromagnetic waves (using Maxwell’s equations). He performs calculations of wave equations and examines their solutions for electromagnetic and acoustic waves, using potential and vector analysis. A number of calculations examine the motion of an ideal fluid (using Euler’s equation), as well as the vortex motion of a fluid. This document is of great value in the context of Dmitry Ryabushinsky’s fundamental research in the field of hydrodynamics and wave motion.
