Book II (Volumes VI–X): 1,726 pp., generally in fair condition (the block is clean, but is coming away from the spine and falling apart, with tears). Book III (Volumes XI–XV): 1579 pp., generally in good condition (the block is mostly clean but is falling apart). The work *History of Russia from the Earliest Times* became the life’s work of S.M. Solovyov. It was published between 1851 and 1879 and comprised 29 volumes, originally collected in 6 books. The final volume was published posthumously, concluding with a description of the Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca between Russia and Turkey, concluded in 1775. The presentation of the material is based on factual data (from the 17th century onwards, predominantly archival). The ‘History’ has been reprinted numerous times.
