The first part of the publication provides general biographical information about Alexander III: it recounts his childhood, the characteristics of his personality and upbringing, and the circumstances of his accession to the throne. It includes photographs from the imperial family’s private archive, depicting the Emperor and his closest relatives. The second part of the publication is devoted to the celebrations in Moscow marking the unveiling of the monument to Emperor Alexander III, which took place in May 1912 in the presence of the imperial family near the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. A large number of rare photographs are presented, capturing various moments of the celebrations. The presumed author is Senator Grigory Ivanovich Shamshin.
