Viktor Kravtchenko (1905–1966) – statesman and member of the Communist Party, who became famous thanks to his book *I Choose Freedom* and the lawsuit he won against a French Communist newspaper. A dedicatory inscription to General Alexei Petrovich Arkhangelsky on the half-title page. Viktor Andreevich Kravchenko (1905–1966) – a Soviet statesman and party official, a non-returnee, became famous for his book *I Choose Freedom* and for winning a lawsuit against a French communist newspaper. He died in mysterious circumstances.
