Major General Viktor Alexandrovich Zambrzitsky’s serious work provides an objective assessment of the operations, plans and strategies of the Soviet and German commands. The author of the book reveals the reasons behind the Soviet Army’s initial defeats and setbacks, as well as its subsequent successes. All the material is well organised and supported by examples. Particular emphasis is placed on: the Battle of Stalingrad as the turning point of the entire war, followed by the advance on Berlin and, finally, the storming of the German capital.
