Description
Cossack officer’s chachka,
1881–1909 model, with a gilded bronze pommel decorated with the cipher of Tsar Nicholas II and pierced to hold a strap embroidered with silver thread, the fluted brown wooden tang; the steel blade engraved on one side with the monogram of Tsar Nicholas II and on the other with the double-headed imperial eagle; the edge engraved in Cyrillic with the mark of the Zlatoust workshop. With a separate scabbard made of wood covered in leather and fitted with gilded bronze fittings. Signs of wear and impact.
