Description
Officer’s reward chachka of the Dragoons of the Order of St George ‘For Valour’,
1881–1909 model, with a pommel set atop a cross of the Order of St George, enamelled in polychrome and adorned with the cipher of Tsar Nicholas II, surrounded by friezes of laurel leaves, the fluted tang, the single-branch guard engraved in Cyrillic on both sides with ‘For Valour’, marked beneath with the manufacturer’s mark ‘SCHAFF & CIE’ in Saint Petersburg, the steel blade, engraved on one side with the double-headed imperial eagle and the mark of the Zlatoust arms factory, set within a border of foliage. With its wooden scabbard covered in brown leather and gilded bronze fittings. Minor knocks.
