Sapper’s sabre-lighter known as a “tesak”, 1827 model, with an “S”-shaped guard and a gilded bronze tang featuring fluted decoration engraved with the date “1833”, and a broad serrated steel blade. With its wooden scabbard covered in black leather and gilded bronze fittings, engraved with the date “1833” at the top. Signs of wear and impact. Russia, reign of Nicholas I, circa 1833.
