First-class Cross of St George in gold. The obverse depicts St George; the reverse features the saint’s monogram in the centre, along with the number 967 and the distinction ‘1 СТЕП’. History Although the number on our cross indicates that it was one of the first to be awarded in 1914, unfortunately the surname for No. 967 is not listed in Volume 1 of S.B. Patrikeev’s index (“Svodnye spiski kavaleram Georgievskogo kresta”).
