A rare commemorative medal marking the organisation of peasants in the Kingdom of Poland, 2nd class, in gilded silver, featuring on the obverse the profiles of Emperors Nicholas I and Alexander II of Russia. The upper part of the medal is surmounted by an imperial crown, with a loop attached to the reverse. Some signs of wear. Medallist’s mark: N. Kozin. With a modern ribbon in the colours of the Order of St Vladimir. Diameter: 2.8 cm. Weight: 20 g. History This medal was established by Tsar Alexander II on 8 (20) December 1865, and comprised two classes: a gold class, of which 100 were struck, and a silver class, of which 650 were struck.
