Description
Commemorative medal of the Crimean War of 1853–1856,
in gilded bronze. The obverse features the monograms of Emperors Nicholas I and Alexander II, surmounting the years of the Crimean War: ‘1853–1854–1855–1856’. The reverse bears a quotation from the Book of Psalms: ‘In you, O Lord, we put our hope; may we never be put to shame’. Oxidation, signs of wear. With an attached ribbon of the Order of St Andrew, on a metal core.

History
This medal was created on 26 August 1856 to commemorate the end of the Crimean War (1853–1856) and to mark the coronation of Alexander II.
