Rare badge of the 120th Serpukhov Infantry Regiment in gold (56 zolotniks, 583 thousandths) and polychrome enamels, the centre depicting the coat of arms of the town of Serpukhov, showing a golden peacock with orange and white feathers on a silver hill, flanked by a white ribbon inscribed with the dates “1813” and “1913”, surmounting the number “100” commemorating the centenary, and surrounded by a ribbon in the colours of the Order of St George inscribed in Cyrillic with “52nd Chasseurs Regiment – 120th Serpukhov Infantry Regiment’ in Cyrillic. With its silver (875 parts per thousand) backplate and knurled ring; the backplate is marked ‘EDOUARD’. Very good condition. Preserved in its original case from the EDOUARD firm in Saint Petersburg (some wear). Saint Petersburg, 1913–1917. Silversmith: Vladimir DYNAKOV for EDOUARD. H. 4.8 x W. 3.1 cm. Gross weight: 22.1 g.
