Oval pendant plaque of the Order of Saint Andrew the First-Called, probably a pectoral or ceremonial insignia associated with the Chapter of the Order, in chiselled vermeil (875 parts per thousand), depicting Saint Andrew on his X-shaped cross, surmounted by a princely crown and the letters S. A. for Sanctus Andreas, and surrounded by three crowned double-headed eagles of the Russian Empire, with a hammered border. Russia, 18th century, probably c. 1736. Hallmark “..36”, probably for 1736.
