Description
Set of two Red Cross tokens, one bearing the effigy of Empress Maria Feodorovna in vermeil (84 zolotniks, 875 thousandths), with white and turquoise enamel; the reverse features a Red Cross in red enamel centred on a guilloché background, with a silver chain, the other bearing the cipher of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna in Saint Petersburg, intended for soldiers of the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–1905, with red enamel, and a chain. Some signs of wear. St Petersburg, 1908–1917. Silversmith: KP in Cyrillic. H. 2.7 x W. 2.4 cm. (blue enamel) H. 3.6 x W. 2.2 cm. Total gross weight: 18.1 g.
