Set of 3 books and maps in Russian, comprising: - A table of uniforms, flags and standards of the Grenadier Corps of the Imperial Russian Army, with details of the regiments’ dates of formation and other distinguishing features, compiled by Major Kaffka (Head of Lithography at the Department of Military Colonies), St Petersburg, undated (reign of Nicholas I, c. 1840). A large, fold-out polychrome sheet (H. 60 x W. 49 cm). Minor stains but in good overall condition. In its case and slipcase of green morocco leather embossed in gold, the spine bearing the title in Russian in gold lettering and the cipher of King Frederick William IV of Prussia (1795–1861). In-32 format. - Map showing the deployment of the active army’s separate corps: the Guard, the Grenadiers, the 5th and 6th Infantry Corps, the Caucasus and Orenburg Corps, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Reserve Divisions, as well as the Consolidated Cavalry Division, and the troops under the command of the Governors-General of Finland and Novorossiysk, and the Military Governor of Astrakhan. Undated (period of Nicholas I or Alexander II). A large, polychrome-enhanced folding sheet (H. 50 x W. 51.1 cm). Minor stains but in good overall condition. In its black cloth-covered cardboard slipcase. In-32 format. - Conventional symbols used on military maps, with examples and summary tables of map sheets.
