Description
Fedor Stepanovich PACHENNI (active c. 1840–1850), lithographer.
A series of nine chromolithographs on paper depicting officers of the Imperial Russian Army, including Lieutenant Grigori Zaboudski of the 26th Naval Crew, awarded the Order of St George for his bravery and courage during the Siege of Sevastopol; Lieutenant Commander Alexander Nikolaevich Andreyev (1821–1881), awarded the Order of St George for the defence of Sevastopol and the Order of St Stanislaus during the Crimean War; His Majesty the Emperor’s aide-de-camp and Lieutenant-General Alexander Barantsov (1810–1882), etc.
Each chromolithograph is titled in Cyrillic in the lower margin, detailing the military exploits of each officer, and also bears a subtitle in French. Small stains and tears along the edges.
