BOBROVSKI, Pavel Ossipovich (1832–1905). Compiled from archival documents and other primary sources by Lieutenant-General P.O. Bobrovski, of the General Staff. St Petersburg, V.S. Balachev & Co. Printers, 95 Fontanka, 1895. Part IV: ‘Carabiniers Regiment’ [Карабинерный полкъ] (1816–1856), 2 vols. comprising: - the main text volume: [4], VIII, VIII, 532 pp., 16 illustrated plates; - the volume of Appendices [Приложенія къ четвертой части]: 434 pp. This part covers the period during which the regiment, promoted to the 7th Carabiniers Regiment in 1816, served under General A.P. Ermolov’s Caucasian administration (1816–1827), then took part in the Persian and Russo-Turkish Wars, was renamed the Yerevan Carabiniers Regiment following the capture of Yerevan in 1827, and fought in the Crimean War. Publisher’s bindings in percaline, matching but in distinct colours in accordance with the series’ convention: the main text volume in sky blue, the appendix volume in red. On the covers: title, monograms of Maria Fedorovna and Tsar Alexander III, the Cross of St George and decorative ornamentation, in gilt and polychrome. Gilt titles and ornamentation on the spines with faux ribs. Large quarto format (34.5 x 28 cm). Signs of wear; the colour of the red volume has partially faded and is mottled; the interior is generally fresh, with maps and illustrations in good condition.
