Description
Lieutenant-General’s uniform in dress uniform for the Guard’s Mounted Artillery Regiment, approved in December 1907.
Green woollen tunic, red piping, collar and cuffs in black velvet. Detachable trousers in dark green wool with red piping. Signs of wear, damage and missing parts.
In parade dress, the black velvet breastplate and cap would be missing. Here, the breastplate is not worn and the cap is the correct headgear (see next lot).
He is wearing the insignia of the 4th Mounted Artillery Battery (probably attached), where he served, and which he may even have commanded whilst he was a Major-General, and beneath that, the graduation insignia of the Mikhailskoye Artillery School (Михайлоское Артиллерийское училище).
Reign of Nicholas II, after 1907.
