‘Emperor Alexander II’ (1st Ekaterinoslav Leib-Grenadier Regiment of Emperor Alexander II).
Tsar’s green wool twill tunic with 2 x 6 gold buttons featuring a flaming pomegranate, red piping, red lapels and collar embroidered with gold cannetille, sleeve cuffs with three columns and three gold buttons. Cream and black silk lining. Signs of wear, damage and missing parts.
Nicholas II period.
History
As Nicholas II was Commander of this elite regiment from May 1896, the soldiers and officers of His Majesty’s 1st Company bore the double monogram (N II over A II) on their epaulettes and shoulder tabs.
