Description
Parade tunic of an officer of the Preobrazhensky Guards Regiment, 1908 model.
Made of ‘Tsar’s green’ woollen cloth, with a scarlet cloth front panel edged with white piping, featuring 2 x 7 buttons bearing the imperial eagle in gilded brass, straight collar and sleeve facings in red cloth embroidered with gold thread and sequins, featuring three motifs and three gilded buttons, one of which is concealed on the sleeves, the lining in cream silk bearing numerous stamps dating from 1937 to 1965, including one from the Theatre Combine and also from the central costume departments. Signs of wear, moth holes, damage and restoration.
