Description
Corporal’s (эфрейтор) uniform of the Lancers Regiment of Her Imperial Majesty the Empress’s Guard. Tunic with a navy blue woollen cloth front panel, lined with canvas on the inside, featuring 2 x 7 copper buttons bearing the imperial eagle, and red piping. Front panel, sleeve facings, collar and epaulettes in red wool; with a blue and red belt and detachable trousers in navy blue wool (bearing a label from the Cossack Officers’ Economic Society in Tiflis). Collar and shoulder strap loops with orange braid and red edging, as per corporal’s regulations. Russia, late 19th – early 20th century.
