Description
Colonel’s uniform of the Guard Mounted Grenadiers Regiment.
1897-style tunic in Tsar’s green wool, with a red wool front panel and cuffs (good condition, a few moth holes). The cream silk lining features stamps and annotations. Comes with a pair of colonel’s epaulettes with gold fringes. It bears the gilded bronze insignia of the Nicholas Cavalry School and the Pages’ Corps, as well as a Pages’ Corps token suspended from a button, but no regimental insignia (which, if everything were original, would date the uniform to before 1903). With a service sash. Detachable dark green woollen trousers with raspberry-coloured piping. Signs of wear, damage and missing parts.
Reign of Nicholas II, 1897–1903.
