Description
Infantry Guard soldier’s cap, 1812 model.
Cylindrical in shape, made of woollen cloth and black leather, adorned with a front plate featuring a stamped gilt-brass double-headed imperial eagle holding a thunderbolt and a laurel wreath, chinstraps with gilded brass scales, featuring an oval cockade at the top of the soldier’s yellow braided wool cord, and an étichket with white braided wool tassels, with a black leather visor. The black woollen lining has been replaced; the eagle and the étichket have probably been reattached; the inner brown leather headband has also been replaced.
