Description
Parade helmet for officers of the Army’s Field Gendarmerie squadrons, 1910 model.
The helmet is covered in black felt, with all fittings in silver-plated brass; the front plate bears the double-headed imperial eagle; the chinstraps feature metal scales, with an officer’s cockade on the right made of metal imitating a white-orange-black fabric rosette, with a black horsehair placket mounted on a metal crest (the cockade is missing), visor and neckband in black patent leather with metal edging. Tears on the inside; lining partially missing.
Manufacturer’s mark on the inside: ‘P. A. Fokin’, St Petersburg.
