RARE OFFICER’S CAP FROM THE UHLANS REGIMENT OF HER MAJESTY THE EMPRESS ALEXANDRA FEODOROVNA
Officer’s cap of the Lancers (Uhlans) Regiment of Her Majesty’s Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, in black patent leather, with a gilt brass double-headed imperial eagle applied to the front, featuring a silver plaque of the Order of St Andrew the First-Called, 84 zolotniks (875 parts per thousand) and polychrome enamels, and surmounted by a scroll engraved in Cyrillic with the inscription “For Telich on 16 October and the Balkans on 18 December 1877”, the square plate in black patent leather edged with gold braid, the reverse in ribbed red velvet with gold braided cords and in the colours of the Order of St George, the hinged chinstraps in gilded brass. With cockade; the plume is missing. Wear and losses.
