Officer’s chapka of the 6th Pavlovgradski Dragoon Regiment, 1882 model, made of blue woollen cloth and astrakhan, with an officer’s gold-braided rim ending in a cloverleaf at the back, front plate bearing the imperial eagle in gilded metal, surmounted by a gilded brass scroll engraved in Cyrillic with the distinction ‘За отличие’ (For Distinction), with its officer’s cockade. Lining probably replaced. Russia, reign of Alexander III or Nicholas II. H. 12 x W. 16 x D. 19.5 cm.
