Description
A rare officer’s cartridge belt from the Cossack Regiment of the Guard,
of the 1828 model featuring the imperial eagle, inspired by the 1809 model with the Saint-André plaque (see illustration), rectangular in shape with an enveloping flap, made of black leather and silver-plated brass, decorated at the centre of the front with a double-headed imperial eagle holding a thunderbolt and a laurel wreath, with four radiating motifs at the corners. Shows signs of wear and scratches but is in good condition.
Marked ‘Damson’ on the silver-plated metal.
