Porcelain plate from the table service of Grand Duke Serge Mikhailovich of Russia (1869–1918), with a slightly curved rim, the central panel featuring the Grand Duke’s polychrome and gilded monogram, with the intertwined Cyrillic letters ‘SM’ enclosing the imperial crown; the rim decorated with a garland of six sky-blue ribbon bows representing the Order of St Andrew, with a border of gold ‘wolf’s teeth’. Minor wear to the gold. English manufacture, late 19th or early 20th century. Unmarked. Diameter 23.5 cm.
