Mosin-Nagant infantry rifle, 1891 model, with wooden stock and steel fittings, bearing the manufacturer’s mark ‘REMINGTON ARMORY’ and the date ‘1917’. Signs of wear. United States, Remington Arms, Bridgeport, for Russia, 1917. Length: 130 cm. History During the First World War, Imperial Russia, facing a severe shortage of rifles, ordered approximately 1.5 million Mosin Model 1891 rifles from Remington in the United States. Only a portion of these were delivered before the revolutions of 1917 and the cancellation of the contract; the weapons remaining in the United States were subsequently taken over by the US government, with some being used for training or by forces deployed to northern Russia. Category C Weapon classified as Category ‘C’ under Decree No. 2018-542 of 29 June 2018, and subject to registration. The purchaser MUST present their identity card and a valid hunting licence or shooting licence, together with their SIA number, and their details must be checked against the FINIADA database. Weapon registration fee: €20 (including VAT).
