This painting, Geologists in Siberia, was submitted in 1953 as a graduation piece for the Academy of Fine Arts.
The artist, a pupil of Joganson, took part during his studies in two geological expeditions which inspired this painting, long held in the collection of the Academy of Fine Arts Museum in Saint Petersburg.
