Afanasy Efimovich ROKACHEVSKI (Roslavl 1830–Kiev 1901) Portrait of a Lady, 1874 Oil on canvas Signed in Cyrillic and dated "Rokachevsky 1874" top left. H_22 cm W_18 cm. Painted in 1878 A student at the St Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under Bruni, Rokachevsky settled in Kiev and devoted himself there primarily to portraiture and iconography.
