Description
Russian Empire, 19th century. A pair of two-armed candelabra, decorated with a fountain and cascades of faceted glass strands; the square base is in white marble, the baluster shaft in cobalt-blown glass, which brings the crystal pendants to life. The whole is mounted on gilded brass with chiselled decoration, topped with a diamond-point-cut crystal. H_37 cm Provenance: Private collection, Paris XVI Russian Empire, 19th century A pair of chandeliers with two candle holders, decorated with a fountain motif and cascading strands of faceted glass. The square base is made of white marble, the balustrade stem of blown cobalt glass, which accentuates the play of the crystal pendants. The entire structure is mounted on gilded brass with embossed decoration and crowned with a finial faceted in the ‘diamond point’ style. Height: 37 cm. Provenance: Private collection, 16th arrondissement of Paris.
