Icon, Southern Russia, 19th century
A four-part composition, with a Crucifixion in the centre. A Christ Pantocrator giving a blessing; on one side, Saint Nicholas of Myra in Lycia; in the lower section, Saint Charalampus of Magnesia and the Virgin Mary, known as the Consoler of Sorrows. On either side, a cartouche decorated with a saint. Along the vertical axis: God the Father as Lord Sabaoth sends the Holy Spirit upon the Crucified One (note the non-filioquist nature of the image).

A four-part composition with a central depiction of the Crucifixion.
In the upper section is Christ Pantocrator, giving his blessing; on either side is Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker of Myra. In the lower section are Saint Charalampus of Magnesia and the Mother of God ‘Comforter of the Afflicted’. On either side are two cartouches depicting saints.
Along the vertical axis: God the Father, depicted as Sabaoth, sends down the Holy Spirit upon the Crucified Christ (it is worth noting the non-filioquist nature of the iconography).
