Description
A monumental display piece in gilded bronze and malachite, resting on an artiodactyl base. Thetranslucent glass dish with a diamond-point decoration rests on cocker feet; it is surmounted by a scalloped shaft adorned with three deer heads supporting a second dish with the same decoration, topped by a Baroque shaft at the summit of which sits a squirrel on a bouquet of flowers. Russian work, 19th century. H_50 cm. As described A monumental display stand in gilded bronze and malachite, resting on a base in the shape of a cloven-hoofed animal. A semi-transparent glass plate with a ‘diamond-cut’ design is set upon figures of cocker spaniels; above it rises a sculpted stem, adorned with three deer heads, supporting a second plate with a similar design. Above this is a Baroque-style rod, at the top of which sits a squirrel on a bouquet of flowers. Russian work, 19th century. Height: 50 cm. Marked.
