ARMAND-CALLIAT. A gilded metal bishop’s crozier in the Neo-Gothic style.
The cross-shaft is crowned by a biblical Lamb in the round set within a foliage scroll; the shaft is adorned with small waves, geometric motifs, the bishop’s coat of arms and the motto ‘Cor unum et anima una ’ (One heart and one soul); the knot is adorned with four medallions depicting the Virgin Mary and the holy bishops.
The shaft consists of four sections.
In its original case bearing the gilded inscription ‘ARMAND-CALLIAT Goldsmith in Lyon’
