Pair of vases, second half of the 19th century Cast iron 48 x 95 cm
An imposing outdoor vase in cast iron, bell-shaped, resting on a moulded base with a quadrangular foot. The body is adorned with a rich decorative repertoire in the neoclassical style, featuring an upper band with a continuous wave motif and lower pod-like motifs. The finely shaped side handles feature an elegant design of opposing volutes with stylised zoomorphic finials. The surface bears a natural patina consistent with exposure to the elements.
