Rectangular 20th-century polychrome marbled inlay tabletop 103 x 68 cm
Crafted using inlays of marble of varying quality and colour. Set within a perimeter frame of red brecciated marble and an outer border of white marble, the piece features an ornamental composition in the Baroque style, centred on an oval medallion of veined marbles in shades of black, grey, pink and white, arranged according to a strict mirror-image pattern. The oval is surrounded by rich scrollwork and cartouches in black, red and yellow-orange marble, set against a background of streaked green-grey marble.
