A tripod iron box with a brown patina and a gadrooned body decorated with six ivory plaques featuring birds in landscapes and flower baskets in mother-of-pearl and ivory inlay. The lid is finely engraved with flowers and has a silvered, gilded and copper-plated bronze handle in the shape of a pair of Mandarin ducks on a body of water with damascened silver waves.
(The inlaid decoration on the ivory is missing, and the lid needs to be glued back together.)
