China, late Ming period, A bronze group with a reddish-brown patina, depicting the bodhisattva ‘Wenshu Pusa’ seated on a reclining qilin resting on a lotus-shaped plinth; the deity is richly adorned with jewellery, its face expressing serenity, crowned with a diadem featuring five fleurons and the Wheel of Dharma on the reverse.
